“Together we stand for our country’s better future”
“Together we stand for our country’s better future”. This is the motto of the Council of national deputies of the Hrodna region which is a unique organ of local government and public initiatives.
The Council of National Deputies of the Hrodna region (CNDH) is an association of public activists of the Hrodna region who are interested in developing local government and enhancing the role of local communities. CNDH sees its mission in solving all the problems associated with public utilities and living conditions as well as any other problems affecting the local communities.
During the meeting of the CNDH that took place in Grodna on Monday, the Council’s leaders approved the structure of the organization, its goals and tasks, strategy for the near and distant future. They also elected Mikalai Bausyuk leader of the organization. He is the chairman of the Hrodna regional branch of the BCD. Another BCD activist, namely Zmitser Kuhlei, was elected executive director of the Council. Mr Kuhley is a former BCD deputy from Masty.
The CNDH sees its mission in involving people in solving various problems associated with public utilities and living conditions by means of developing local government and public initiatives in the Hrodna region, encouraging people to participate in determining the ways of social and economic development of their regions and the future of local communities.
First of all, the CNDH is going to set up its branches in every district of the Hrodna region and establish local Councils of National Deputies which will campaign for a better quality of public utilities and living conditions in the following towns: Hrodna, Slonim, Lida, Vaukavysk, Svislach, Berastavitsa, Navahradak and Masty. The CNDH also intends to create centralized information and consulting centres and work out a programme of social and economic development of the Hrodna region.
By means of achieving these goals the CNDH intends to ensure transparency in the activities of the local authorities and to eliminate local corruption.
Let us remind you that the Council of National Deputies of the Hrodna region was established by the activists who took part in the recent regional elections. These people decided to unite their efforts in order to continue solving various local problems.
