On 9 December, the General Prosecutor’s Office gave its second official warning to presidential candidate for the BCD Vital Rymasheuski. Four other candidates were warned too.

According to BelaPAN news agency, the General Prosecutor’s Office gave warnings to Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Vital Rymasheuski, Mikalai Statkevich, Yaraslau Ramanchuk and Andrei Sannikau because of their appeals to come to Kastrychnitskaya Square on the day of the elections in order to take part in an unsanctioned rally.

It is worth mentioning that Rymasheuski and Statkevich were warned for the second time. They received their first warnings from the General Prosecutor’s Office for encouraging people to participate in another unsanctioned rally which took place on Kastrychnitskaya Square on 24 November.

Vital Rymasheuski was notified of the second warning on the phone by Pavel Radzivonau, head of the Legal Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Belarus. He also said that Mr Rymasheuski would soon receive this warning in writing by post.

However, Vital Rymasheuski declares that these warnings will not affect the resolve to stand up for the right of the Belarusian people to demand fair and transparent elections on Kastrychnitskaya Square on 19 December.
