Political prisoner Aleh Surhan released from jail (photo)
Member of the BCD, political prisoner Aleh Surhan was released from prison in the town of Hlybokaye on 27 July, at 8 a.m.
He was immediately greeted by his friends and colleagues, who had been waiting for him near the prison. However, the guards escorted Mr Surhan right to his friends’ car in order to speed up the process of liberation, thus avoiding too much attention of the media, so undesirable for the authorities.
Let us remind you that Aleh Surhan had to serve a six-month jail term for hanging a white-red-white flag in Vitsebsk. But officially he was charged with attack on a policeman and resistance to the police while being arrested.
