BCD’s position relative to the Congress of Democratic Forces
1. On November 17, 2014 the representatives of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, the Belarusian Popular Front Party, the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), “Tell the Truth” Campaign and the movement “For Freedom” adopted the draft procedure for organisation of the Congress of Democratic Forces.
2. At the meeting, the representatives of all seven democratic forces participating in the consultations (along with the United Civic Party and the Belarusian Left Party “Fair World”), agreed to wait until December 1, 2014, when the UCP and “Fair World” are expected to determine their positions. Until that moment the participating parties agreed not to start the implementation, or to publicize the decision.
3. By common agreement the decision to implement the procedure will be adopted by at least six of the seven structures (consensus minus 1). To date, the Belarusian Christian Democrats agree to participate in the Congress only in this format. We clarify that the estimated time of Congress based on the signed draft procedure is March, not May 2015.
4. We believe that any insinuations on the subject of the Congress before the final decision are premature.
