Aliaksei Shein, Co-Chairman of the Belarusian Christian Democracy
Born in the year 1976 in Mensk. Graduated school with specialization in art in Grodno, Liceum of the Belarusian State University, and philological faculty of the Belarusian State University.
One of the founders of the Young Front.
2000-2004 – Vice-Chairman of the Young Front.
1999 till 2003 – member of Assembly and Council Board of the Belarusian Popular Front Party, press-secretary of the party.
2001 – press secretary of the Chairman of the Political Council of democratic forces Syamyon Domash.
2005-2006 – press-secretary, then speech writer of the candidate for president Alyaksandar Milinkevich.
2003 – member of the organizational committee on celebration of 450th anniversary of Reformation in Belarus.
Member of the observing Council of the Christian Human Rights Defending House”.
One of the initiators of creating the “For Freedom!” movement.
Journalist, author of nearly a thousand publications in printed editions and in the Internet. Published in the newspapers “Svaboda” (“Freedom”), “Literature and Art”, “Nasha Slova” (“Our Word”), “Belaruskaya Maladzezhnaya” (“Belarusian Youth”), “Nasha Niva”, “Narodnaya Volya” and others. Worked for the informational company BelaPAN.
Author and director of the documentary movie “Forbidden Christ” (2009)
Initiator of conducting of the Campaign for freedom of conscience, during which more than 50 000 signatures of Belarusian citizens were collected under the petition for changing the religious legislation. One of the coordinators of the said campaign.
