Ministry of Justice denies non-registration of BCD
On 20 January 2012 the Belarusian Ministry of Justice issued a denial of information about the non-registration of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party (BCD).
“In connection to the information on a number of web-sites on 19 January 2012 that the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus for the fourth time issued a denial to register the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus explains the following. In the interview of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. A. Slizheuski, to media representatives on 19 January 2012 the previous denial of state registration to the BCD was mentioned. At present the BCD state registration process is suspended. The final decision on the application of the BCD founders will be made in accordance with the law, “- says the Ministry of Justice (http://www.minjust.by/ru/site_menu/news?id=1065).
On 19 December 2012 the governmental Belarusian Telegraph Agency spread information about the MoJ decision not to register the BCD for the fourth time (www.belta.by/ru/all_news/society/Minjust-otkazal-v-registratsii-partii-Belorusskaja-xristianskaja-demokratija_i_586733.htmlbel).
“This is a non-stop “theatre” around the registration of the BCD. Yesterday we said that the staff of the Ministry of Justice should be dismissed for the lack of professionalism. Today it seems the staff BelTA should be dismissed for the same reason. By the way, it is a very good chance for the Ministry of Information to make an official warning to the BelTA for spreading unchecked, false information, “- said Dzianis Sadouski, the BCD executive secretary.
In his turn the BCD co-chairman, Pavel Sieviarynets, who serves three year sentence in a labour camp, noted that the present situation looks like trade games around the BCD’s registration. “Suspension of registration, denial of registration, and then again back to suspension and everything in one week; this looks like a beacon signal. The only question is, to whom it is addressed? I would say that to the Europeans” – said the politician.
