Hands off our children! – 16-year old daughter of BCD activist abducted on 27 July 2013 in Babruisk
The Belarusian Christian Democracy Party expresses indignation at the wild banditry committed against the daughter of its activist Viachaslau Sheleh from Babruisk (Mahileu region).
The incident happened on 27 July 2013, when 16-year-old Natalia Sheleh went out for her regular morning run and did not return. She did not answer calls on her mobile phone. As it turned out later, Natalia was hit on the head with a heavy, blunt object by someone from behind, when she was going to do exercises on a horizontal bar. The girl lost consciousness and was taken to the woods. She remained unconscious about two hours. She was all smeared with black paint, the clothes were torn, and her shoes were stolen.
Natalia’s father, Viachaslau Sheleh, is one of the coordinators of the Committee on Anti-Corruption issues in Barbruisk. He was repeatedly by threatened the local officials. A month ago, he was warned that if he did not stop his activities, there will be problems with his children. Now we see how inhumanly way these threats materialized. The BCD will make every effort to identify those, who planned and carried out the violent actions against the innocent girl.
We demand that the police and prosecutors finds the bandits. We all democratic parties for solidarity and support!
