THE GOVERNMENT OF LITHUANIA MET WITH THE DELEGATION OF THE BELARUSIAN OPPOSITION

The meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of LithuaniaVigaudas Ushackas and the Prime-minister Andrus Kubiljus were dedicated to discussion of existence of political prisoners in Belarus, denial in registration of BChD, problems with democratization of the country – said to the press-service of BChD the leader of the party Paval Sevyarynec. 

 

– During the meetings and the common press-conference with Andrus Kubiljus the representatives of the Lithuanian government stated that they are interested in questions of democratization in Belarus and Lithuanian-Belarusian relations. The government of Lithuania wishes to see independent and democratic Belarus as their neighbor.  I am convinced that the questions regarding political prisoners, non-rgistration of BChD and others will be raised at the next meeting between the leaders of Lithuania and Aliaksandar Lukashenka.”

 

Paval Sevyarynec, Aliaksandar Kazulin and Anatol Liabedzka participated in the international discussion in the Lithuanian Seym today. The discussion was dedicated to the International Day of Democracy, which is celebrated on September 15.
